Music and dancing are a large part of resident enjoyment at Grandview Village. Typically scheduled every Saturday at 2:00 pm, residents and guests have come to expect and look forward to the performances. An unexpected display of the musical arts brought a bit of nostalgia to our Grandview community. On an ordinary Wednesday afternoon, after lunch, between activities, a resident family member sat down to the piano for a while. Soon, his dad brought his violin to play along, and another resident joined in to share her talents on the piano as well. Residents and staff alike felt fortunate to be listening to and admiring the impromptu concert happening in the living room.

Before TV, and before internet, there were families gathering together to play together, to compliment and entertain each other. This unexpected and joyous concert reminded us we are a part of one village here, where respect, appreciation, and care are a part of everyday life at Grandview Village. In a world that can seem so unfavorable and divisive at times, we are grateful for the blessings of unity, fellowship and companionship.
