Grandview resident, Ginger Zyskowski has many talents she shares with us. She leads our weekly music appreciation class, having spent years teaching percussion instruments to students of all ages and abilities. A lover of music and art, she has led art projects here in the community and is a published author of poetry. Ginger has now published her very personal and true account of kidnapping, control, and recovery after trauma, in hopes of helping others. At Village Concepts of Marysville, we are excited to share and celebrate our resident, Ginger Zyskowski’s new book release of Shattered: One Woman's True Story of Trauma, Coercive Control and Survival.
Our residents love hearing the firsthand account from the author herself. Ginger reads for an hour at a time and plans to go cover to cover for those with visual difficulties. With her account so beautifully written, residents are left on the edge of their seats for the next reading.
“My story is about perseverance, strength, and love,” states Ginger. “Perseverance to take one more step to follow your path, strength to keep moving forward in the face of adversity, and love to fill your heart when truth sets you free.”
When asked about the book she spent years writing, she states, “It’s been great therapy to get this out of my head and body to a tangible book.”
Ginger’s book debuted this past December on Amazon and is available at Barnes and Noble and Pegasus Books. One reviewer on Amazon writes, “This book cautions the reader about the consequences of an unrestrained power. Presenting a riveting story of resilience, Ginger takes the reader on her journey of love, belief, family betrayal, and abuse. I couldn’t put it down! Bravo!”
We will be hosting a reading and book signing at Village Concepts of Marysville ~ Grandview Village on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, from 10 am to noon. Congratulations Ginger on your new book!
