Our residents at Country Meadow Village were treated to a presentation by Flora Perez Lucatero, Star Torres, and Jessica Rodriguez, the team from Children of the Valley, about the innovative after school program started 19 years ago by Flora at Bethany Covenant Church in Mount Vernon. Attending the event was resident Nancy Gamson, who coincidentally was one of the first volunteers for the fledgling group all those years ago! Nancy spent 7 years with the organization. Now, the program has expanded to multiple locations including one in Sedro-Woolley! We are excited to work with Star Torres, the site coordinator in Sedro-Woolley to have the kids come out for a visit in October! You can bet that Nancy will be a key part of the fun!
A side note: Flora and David have been talking about connecting since 2019 right before the pandemic! We are so glad that we made that vision a reality!
