High Point Assisted Living came alive with color, music, and meaning as residents and staff gathered to celebrate Día De Los Muertos, the Mexican “Day of the Dead.” The celebration, led by several of our Hispanic team members, was a beautiful blend of culture, remembrance, and joy. The team created a stunning ofrenda, or altar, adorned with bright marigolds, candles, sugar skulls, and framed photos of loved ones who had passed. Each item on the altar was carefully chosen to honor the memories of family and friends—reminding everyone that love transcends time. Staff dressed in vibrant traditional attire and painted their faces in the iconic calavera (skull) style, transforming the dining room into a scene straight from a Mexican fiesta. Residents were captivated as team members shared stories about their heritage and explained the meaning behind the holiday—how it’s not about sadness, but about celebrating life and the people who shaped us.
