Bill Loetscher is a very well respected resident who started a poetry reading and creative writing group here at El Dorado West a couple of years ago by gathering a small group of residents in a meeting room and introducing his poetry that he has written in the past. This group was quickly inspired by Bill's passion for poetry and started meeting weekly to share creative writing ideas with each other. The group later expanded into over 20 participants including residents and local community members who chose to support Bill in his mission of spreading positivity through his expression of poetry.
We now meet monthly in our large social room where Bill will share his homemade toffee with his poetry friends and share this fellowship with like minded people. Some residents choose to express themselves by reciting a poem style such as Haiku or a lexophile while others will share a detailed and descriptive story of their past. This activity has allowed people to open up avenues to express themselves in ways that are challenging and activates the creativity in their soul.
