In the 1960s, Richard Hooper was a long-haired hippie and seminary student at San Francisco State University. He soon took on mission work in the San Francisco/Monterey Bay area, successfully running a halfway house. A local newspaper profiled him as Executive Director of Mission Possible, highlighting his leadership at the “House of the Rising Sun,” his radio show on KLRB FM, and his contributions to local columns.
Today, we are fortunate to have Richard as a resident at Village Concepts of Sedro-Woolley. Starting in March, he will lead discussions based on his book, Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, and Lao Tzu: The Parallel Sayings, which explores the shared spiritual teachings of these historical figures in an easy-to-reference format.
