We recently celebrated a very special birthday at Village Concepts of Issaquah, Spiritwood at Pine Lake: resident Daphne turned 100! Born in 1926 in Suffolk, England, Daphne trained as a teacher and taught kindergarten through second grade in Dagenham, later serving as a vice principal. In 1948, she married Charlie Willsmore, and in 1953, they moved to America to pursue Charlie’s dream. After raising their daughter, Judy, Daphne returned to teaching and spent 20 years teaching preschool in Los Angeles. In 1991, Daphne and Charlie moved to the Sammamish area, where they enjoyed 25 wonderful years of retirement surrounded by family and nature. Married for 67 years, they cherished family most of all, especially time spent with their grandchild, Lizzie.
