Welcome to Village Concepts of Chehalis, Woodland Village where we create a village that feels like family for independent living, assisted living and memory care residents. Situated in a peaceful country setting in Lewis County, our Woodland campus also offers independent retirement cottages and townhomes. Our friends at Village Concepts of Fairwood had a wonderful time learning about Native American culture, led by Executive Director Lynda White Eagle, whose husband is a proud member of the Muckleshoot Tribe. Lynda shared the significance of cedar in various traditional practices including weaving, beading, totem pole carvings, native medicines, drum-making, and more. We adore this story from Village Concepts of Bothell! Jan, a newer resident, recently attended a jazz concert hosted by the community. Jan didn't know if she'd enjoy the style of music, but that soon changed! As Lonnie and his band started playing, Jan's feet started moving. Jan says it was like her feet had taken over and she couldn't help herself! She found herself on the dance floor and was surprised to find she was the only one dancing. Her new passion for jazz music inspired Jan to invite the band to play for her birthday party, where she and her son shared their first mother-son dance.
